What I want from TINST 207

I am not too sure what I want to talk about for my presentation for my project but I do have a general idea since my criminal justice class is talking about cyber crime and my group decides to do a presentation for it I might as well reused something from my TCRIM class and present for this. Not only it saves me time and some effort but also it's along the lines of computers and technology. In terms of what specifics of cyber crime topic of cyber crime I think I'm planning to do something in regards to cyber crimes, hacking, DDoS etc. Some of the mainstream and less known cyber crime that people don't always know about which I will touch upon. In regards to journalism the topic is fairly new to me I'm a person that doesn't read much magazine or news so I had to do a little research on this topic. I did have some experience on programming way back when I was still a freshman in high school. Even though I was still rusty on creating a website this assignment was still fairly easy for me since it just creating a webpage with minimal text and picture content. The most challenging part for me was not using a proper programming software. Using only a text-based editor application (notepad) it was challenging for me to decode some bugs, for example, multiple times I kept forgetting to put end tags or "/" because I was used to having a programming software to help me fill in the end tags and debug lines of code if there were any mistakes. In some parts, the assignment I kept referring to google to refresh my memory especially when adding pictures and links. In today's age, everything seems to be digitized including our mail. Mail has become obsolete nowadays mainly due how slow the process it takes to get information from one end to another. In addition, you need a pen and paper which can be somewhat harmful to the planet where we are using more trees. Email, on the other hand, is more convenient, at present most people have some sort of smartphone or computers. This gives the user access to mailing anytime at anywhere as long you have some sort of internet connection. Sending email is instantaneous compared conventional mailing, where emails could take days, weeks or months meanwhile email takes a press of a button which literally takes in total 1 min or so. The email also has a feature to spell check and proofread your content while mail you have to do it manually in some cases you have to rewrite your letter if the mistakes were too big. To be honest I did not expect too much from this course. When I first read the course description I thought I knew what I kinda sign up for, but I guess I was wrong. Since the first day of class, it seems pretty chill it fitted my schedule and it was only 3 credits. So it gave me a lot of breathing room for other harder courses since this course is somewhat on the easy side. I've always been fascinated by new cutting-edge technology mainly because of it exciting to see what new tech can change society and the world again. I think this class might help me along the road for a IT or CS major at UWT. In addition, I also want to learn some history about the computer and the internet since I am a PC gamer I always wonder what the first PC was like and how it came to be the computers we know today.
